Pulte Begins Developing New Model Home Park

pulte2Pulte Homes has started building a new model park that will replace the models currently located in the Ave Maria communities of Emerson Park and Hampton Village.

The scale of the construction prompted speculation about what was being built at the site, which is south of the water park and north of Donahue Academy. (Photo at right was taken from the water park looking south to the Donahue Academy, in the right of the picture.)

Pulte Division President Ryan Marshall said that the exact number of models and the styles that will be built have not yet been determined. "We are evaluating the possibility of new models, possibly with larger floor plans," he said, declining to provide specifics about the types of homes that might be built. Several residents and prospective buyers have suggested to Pulte that it build some homes with floor plans more suitable to larger families.

The model park covers a large area, Mr. Marshall said, because it is being planned to serve the company's needs "for the life of the community." Pulte usually builds new models every four or five years, he said. Del Webb also will have new models, he said, but those will be built on a site at Del Webb.

Construction of the models is unlikely before 2010, Mr. Marshall said, adding that the investment in a new model park demonstrates how "absolutely committed" the company is to Ave Maria.
