New Town Resident Offers Fitness Classes

A variety of new fitness classes will begin July 6 when Fitness by Holly begins offering step, yoga, cardio-interval training, and Zumba to all Ave Maria residents in the Fitness Center of La Piazza.
Classes are led by Holly Imbus, who moved to Ave Maria with her family in June from Twinsburg, Ohio, where she taught a wide variety of fitness courses.
"I am bringing a well-rounded exercise program to Ave Maria that I hope people will really enjoy," Mrs. Imbus said. Her classes will include step, cardio interval training, conditioning, yoga and Zumba, a new routine that is growing in popularity.
"If you haven't experienced Zumba yet," Mrs. Imbus said, "it is like no other fitness class you have ever taken before." She explained that Zumba fuses Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow dance moves that result in a dynamic cardio workout.
"You don't have to be a dancer to Zumba," she said. "I've had men and women in my classes, and all ages from teenagers to people in their 80s."
Since Fitness by Holly is beginning in the town fitness center, at present classes are open only to town residents. Holly is working to expand into another facility soon that will let non-residents and AMU students participate.
"My goal is to have my classes serve all of Ave Maria and surrounding communities."

Mrs. Imbus has been teaching fitness for two years and has YMCA certification in Group Exercise Training and CPR, as well as training in Zumba, water aerobics and Silver Sneakers, classes designed for older adults.
She and her husband, Don, live in Hampton Village with their three children, Noelle, 8, Bradley, 5 and Jackson, 3. "We moved here on faith, to be close to family, and in hope for a better, simpler life."
