"It's bittersweet," says Secret Ingredient manager Beth Flaherty about her decision to leave the town's fashion shop and return to her roots in Long Island.
Beth graduated from Ave Maria in May of last year with a major in literature. As she heads back to her family in Queens, she's not sure what she'll be doing yet, but speculates that retail may be a part of it. She credits the shop's owner, Jeanne Rush, for letting her in on the "secret" ingredient for retail success - customer service. Her favorite part of the job? Getting to know the town residents and some of Ave Maria's many visitors.
"Having Beth to help her has been "a magnificent experience," says Jeanne, pictured with Beth at right. "We read each other. Sometimes we finish each other's sentences. I'm losing not only a manager, but a friend.
Beth, who has been leaving with her sister Kate in Naples, plans to move in with her twin sister Molly in East Islip when she heads back North. When asked if she thinks she plans to come back to visit, she doesn't hesitate to think for a second. "Absolutely. For sure."
