AMU students put on a delightful production of
Oklahoma! Saturday night at a dinner theater benefit to build the arts program at the university. At right, Rebekah Sauls as Laurey and Joe Tompkins as Curley.
The performance was the first event in a weekend Festival of the Arts at Ave Maria that will feature the visual arts, music, poetry and dance all day Sunday on the campus and in the town center.
The dinner theater also featured raffles and auctions to raise money for the arts at Ave Maria. The auction item that drew the highest bid was an apple pie baked by university President Nick Healy which was purchased by Ed Jackoboice (right) for $2,500. The Jackoboices also successfully bid on a dinner with sculptor Marton Varo to be held at the Ave Maria home of Ed and Marilyn Cole.
