Vocations Fest in Ave Maria Wednesday, April 9

Career fairs happen all over Southwest Florida throughout the year, but perhaps none is like the Vocations Fest at Ave Maria University that will be held Wednesday, April 9.

The event has been held annually at AMU, but this year is the first time that the university is welcoming anyone with an interest in learning more about religious life – not just AMU students – to attend.

"We want to open those doors to as many people as possible," said Fr. Robert Garrity, AMU's director of campus ministry.

The Vocations Fest will have representatives from a total of 18 different Catholic religious orders and communities, some of which are for men and others for women.

Those attending will have an opportunity to meet with the representatives from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the AMU student union. Later, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., there will be an outdoor barbecue.
