Advantage Direct Communications, a firm that specializes in making phone calls on behalf of predominantly right-of-center candidates and organizations, will be opening a call center in Ave Maria in late February, company President Jeff Butzke said in an interview.
The company is looking to hire between 30 and 40 people and will begin interviewing candidates Feb. 10, Mr. Butzke said.
Callers will work on the third floor of the bank building in the Ave Maria town center, where the call center will start with about 24 seats from hours of 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday-Saturday. The company is looking for both full-time and part-time employees who can work a minimum of 20 hours a week. Pay will be between $9 and $11 an hour.
Advantage has two other call centers in Reno, Nevada, and North Platte, Nebraska, handling fundraising, opinion polling, advocacy calls, Get Out the Vote calls, and other telephoning on behalf of political candidates and organizations.
Mr. Butzke said the company is hoping to expand in Ave Maria. "We will build the center as big as it can be if we can find enough quality people," he said.
