Ave Maria University's annual Genuine Feminine conference turns its focus to politics this year, with a theme of, "Woman - a Political Animal?"
The main day of the conference, which is open to everyone, is Saturday, Jan. 18, but it will be preceeded by a showing of the film The Iron Lady about former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on Thursday evening and a kick-off "coffee house" talk Friday evening with Ashley Crouch, a contributing editor of Verily Magazine.
Saturday's all-day schedule has talks and panel discussions, including one with AMU alumni, and concludes with a dinner and closing address by Dr. Pia Solenni (left), a noted commenter on issues relating to women, politics and Cathoilicism.
Advance registration, which costs $15 for non AMU students and less for students, is encouraged and can be done online at the conference website here.
The Genuine Feminine conference was started by female AMU undergraduate students in 2011 to explore the role of women in society and past conferences have looked at issues relating to women and families, careers and education.
