Ave Children's Theater Delights Audiences with "Sound of Music"

The Ave Children's Theater staged a rousing rendition of The Sound of Music over the weekend, playing to sold-out audiences in the Ave Maria University student union ballroom. Above, Michael Joyce as Kurt,, Lea Baker as Brigitta, Marie Towey as Marta, Jessica Joyce as louisa, Grace Doman as Maria, Joseph Doman as Friedrich, Marybeth Klein as Liesl and Catherine Graham as Gretl.
"I had a great time," said Grace Doman, who sparkled with her energetic portrayal of Maria, a part she seemed almost born to play.
The production involved 30 actors ranging in age from seven to 17, who performed before hand-painted scenery created by resident Michaela Cheffers.
