Spring Style Show and Luncheon Coming Up Jan. 23

style2For one day each year, the ballroom in the Ave Maria University student union becomes a combination boutique, fashion runway and restaurant.

The annual Spring Style Show and Luncheon offers the chance to see -- and buy -- the latest fashions, with a style show featuring models who are members of the greater Ave Maria community. Proceeds benefit the AMU scholarship fund. Right, Shamrock Bank President Coleen Kvetko is a crowd-pleaser with her two dogs on the runway.

This year's event on Wednesday, Jan. 23, begins at 10 a.m. with boutique shopping. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. with the style show at noon, followed by optional shopping for fashions in the Ave Maria town center.

Much of what is worn on the runway comes from two merchants in Ave Maria -- the Secret Ingredient boutique, whose owner, Jeanne Rush, is the emcee, and Beckner Jewelry and Repair.

Seating is limited and event organizer Sydney McManus says tickets, at $50 each, have sold briskly with a large contingent coming from Naples. Tickets can be purchased at the Ave Maria University website here. Call Mrs. McManus at 239-250-3537 with any questions or to reserve a seat on "the bus" from Naples.
