Ernie Mitchell was honored as the Ave Maria Knights of Columbus Council's "Knight of the Year" Wednesday. Mr. Mitchell, who turns 90 this year and has been a knight since 1948, also stepped down as the council's Grand Knight, and was succeeded by Jeff Ball.
