Some have said, "All You Need is Love." Now we ask you, "But what IS Love? Answer this question through artistic expression. EXHIBIT: FRIDAY, FEB. 19th, 7-10 pm.
From February 1st to the 17th, students, faculty, and community members are being asked to submit original artwork, in any medium, that depicts love. ALL SUBMISSIONS DUE BY 9 PM, WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 17TH All submissions will be entered into a drawing for gift cards to local Ave Maria vendors. These works can include paintings, drawings, musical compositions and short performances, poetry, sketches, sculpture, dramatic monologues, videos, multi-media works, etc. "Performing" arts, including poetry recitations will be performed at the event.
The event will consist of general fellowship and enjoyment of the artistic works, with the 8-9 pm hour scheduled to include the following: 2 short presentations from faculty members speaking about faith in the arts and the role of Catholic artist in contemporary society, poetry recitations, and musical and dramatic performances of submissions. The event will be held in the lobby of the Xavier Conference Center and the surrounding outdoor area, with a lighted patio in the space between Xavier and Goretti. We will serve complimentary wine, cheese, and desserts and provide classical background music. Cost: FREE!
VERY IMPORTANT INFO: The Fra Angelico Art Club will be holding two open studio nights, Thursday Feb. 4th and Thursday Feb. 11th, at 9:30 pm. Students working on submissions for this event may use studio space and art supplies for free! Contact Lauren Dionne at
