Lighten Up Your Beauty Life in 2013 with Highlights, Lowlights and Ombre.
And, if you are trying one of these procedures for the first time, save 10% on the process from now through the end of January.
What's the best way for YOU to lighten up in 2013 - with Highlights, Lowlights or Ombre?
HIGHLIGHTS - In a full highlighting procedure, selected strands are lightened to create alternate tones of light and dark throughout the hair. Depending on the degree of variation between your existing color and the highlighted strands, your Salon d'Maria colorist can create either an effect that is striking, even dramatic or a more subtle and intriguing interplay of light and dark.
If you want hair that shimmers all over rather than clearly defined strands, we can do that too, using a weave application to distribute light evenly throughout the hair.
LOWLIGHTS - This is the application of darker shades of blond, brown and auburn on selected strands of hair, to add dimension and make your brighter shades really pop. Lowlights are perfect for creating a natural-looking color, even if your hair has been previously lightened. If you feel you look "overbleached," lowlighting can give your hair added warmth and a more healthy appearance. Add lowlights to your natural or lightened hair for a fresh new look in 2013.
OMBRE - This popular hair fashion trend just keeps getting stronger, and promises to be one of the most fashionable looks of 2013. Ombre means "gradation" in French, and in this process, your existing color at the roots gradually blends into lighter mid-shafts and ends.See photo left. The effect is natural and carefree, and gives a youthful look. An added benefit is that ombre can require less maintenance than other methods of lightening the hair.
So, how will you choose to light up your beauty life in 2013 – with highlights, lowlights, or ombre? Still undecided? Come in for a consultation with our colorists to decide on the best way to "lighten up" your look in 2013.
With all best wishes for a happy, healthy 2013 to you and yours,
