But maybe you've never had a facial before and you're just a little unsure what they are all about. Here's what to expect ...
Step-by-step with your first facial
For all my facials, I use products made by Dermalogica, naturally derived, scientifically backed products, all of them free of alcohol, colorant and fragrance, and which have been produced and packaged in the US under the supervision of licensed skincare experts. I'm Dermalogica-certified to give you a quality facial.
After consulting with you and examining and evaluating your skin type, I follow eight steps to leave you with maximum benefits from your refreshing facial so your skin will be looking its best.
Step One: The pores undergo a deep cleansing, determined by your skin type.
Step Two: Steam is gently applied to open the pores, bringing impurities to the surface.
Step Three: The skin is exfoliated, which removes dead skin cells and releases congestion on the skin surface, such as white heads and black heads. This reveals young skin with the new skin cells that are created.
Step Four: An extraction is performed, to get rid of impurities and harmful bacteria trapped in pores.
Step Five: A refreshing facial massage encourages a purifying, nourishing flow of blood to the skin.
Step Six: A mask is applied, either hydrating, clay-based, or soothing, depending on your skin.
Step Seven: A hot towel is applied to remove the mask.
Step Eight: The facial is completed with the application of a moisturizer that is just right for your skin.
