Daughter Vivianne and husband Josh are introducing Sophia to her two-year old brother Thomas—who, as shown in this photo, is quite taken with his baby sister! Vivianne was assisted in the birth by Charlene Doman, her older sister, who lives in Ave Maria. Charlene is a RN who recently started her own business working as a Doula within the communities of Ave Maria

Sophia is the14th Figueroa grandchild—but they are expecting their 15th from youngest daughter Cassie residing in Anchorage, Alaska, with her Marine husband Dustin Dreifuerst.   Carry on, kids!

Not to be outdone by their Del Webb neighbors in announcing joyous news, Ann anomar1d Jim Longon are expecting important happenings in September when both their daughters (!!) are expecting to deliver their 5th and 6th grandchildren! What an occasion that will be—and Jim says they will be looking forward to a “get away” next January!

Omar Lopez –Cepero (right), son of Del Webb’s Ana and Tano Lopez-Cepero, has arrived on the Chicago theater stage as Frederic in “The Pirates of Penzance.” The show will be presented at the Marriot Theatre beginning April 13 and running through June 10. Among Omar’s previous acting, singing andadw1 dancing successes were performances in Broadway’s “American Idiot” and in the national tour of “Evita.” Proud parents Ana and Tano invite Chicago friends and travelers to see Omar’s outstanding performance in this wonderful Gilbert and Sullivan play.

The Wearin’ o’ the Green….Saturday, March 17, saw a very ”green” crowd at the Del Webb Residents’ Lounge celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with all the traditional food, drink and music—and a very big helping of Irish spirit! Marilyn Doren and Marlys Arnoldi catered the corn adw2beef and cabbage—absolutely delicious!-- and Del Webb members and guests offered an astounding array of appetizers, side dishes and desserts. An impromptu “Conga” line began the dancing part of the evening (left with Tina Raymond , Life Style Director, leading the group!) and great music and a few challenging word puzzles added to the fun.   Enjoying the festivities (right) from left, are Rosie Oshinsky, Tano and Ana Lopez-Cepero and Patti and John DeFelice.

High Powered Meeting in Chicago… Del Webb neighbors Pat and Ken Kleinrichert and Joe and JoEllen Monahan met on Holy Saturday at the Café Ba Ba Reeba in the Windy City. The restaurant is operated by Jo Ellen’s brother, Michael Cunningham and served as a chicagopic1really fine meeting place for the Monahans who were spending Easter with family and the Kleinricherts who were visiting their daughter and son-in-law. Posing for this fine reunion , from left, are Ken and Pat Kleinrichert, daughter Stacey, JoEllen and Joe Monahan, daughters Maureen and Bridgett and son Hugh.

A Very Special Birthday…The McCann Clan gathered at Champion Gate Resort outside Orlando over Easter to celebrate Grandpa John McCann’s 75th Birthday. A total surprise to the honoree, the event had been in preparation for a year! June and John’s four children and their spouses and 12 grandchildren mflpic1ade up a fun—and sometimes quite raucous!—gathering for five days of swimming (the “lazy river” was a big hit) as well as golf and visits to neighboring Disney, Gaterland and LeggoLand. The grandchildren pictured here range in age from 3 to 14—Teresa, Claire, Caitlin, Erin, Molly, Megan, Jack, Will, Owen, Sean, Patrick and Tim.

Resident Steve Schultz taught a course recently on wilderness survival skills to a number of fellow residents. A former Air Force officer and pilot, Steve based his instruction on an Air Force course he has taught to numerous groups in the past. Given the level of interest, Steve says he's hoping to offer another course and anyone wishing more information can contact him at This email address is being protected from spambots.
