Different pictures of the type of relationship that was originally envisioned between Ave Maria University and the Donahue Academy have emerged in statements made by the chair of the Donahue board of directors and former director Brian Lawe, who has filed a lawsuit charging AMU with improperly manipulating Donahue's finances.

 Lily Northon won a silver medal at the AAU Taekwondo national championships in Fort Lauderdale, and five other students at the Martial Arts Fitness Academy of Ave Maria took home bronze medals.

Lawsuit Alleges Conflict of Interest, Improper Actions by Key Members of Donahue Academy Board

A majority of the board of the Rhodora J. Donahue Academy in Ave Maria acted improperly by putting the interest of Ave Maria University ahead of the interests of the K-12 Catholic school, according to allegations in a lawsuit filed in the Collier County Circuit Court on behalf of former Donahue Board member Brian Lawe and William LaMothe, a philanthropist living in Ave Maria.

Lots of Fun on the 4th

 About 650 people flocked to the Ave Maria water park on the 4th of July for special festivities. Some arrived as part of the town's first Independence Day bike parade.
