Vertical Construction Begins at Arthrex Site in Ave Maria

 The first wall of what will be a 190,000-square-foot manufacturing facility for medical device maker Arthrex went up Wednesday morning at the site off Oil Well Rd. The building is scheduled for completion in the spring, 2013, and is expected to employ 500 people by 2016.

Bear in Ave Maria Town Center Getting Bolder and Bolder

 A black bear who has been overturning garbage cans in the Ave Maria town center has gotten bolder, running through the town center in daylight and becoming more of a nuisance. Florida Fish and Wildlife officials say it will be Monday at the earliest before they can take any action. New Shamrock Bank Branch Aims to Serve Ave Maria Community in Many Ways

 Many town residents attended an open house at Shamrock Bank on Saturday from 11-2. The bank, which is scheduled to open for business in Ave Maria on August 13, will go beyond the traditional banking concept, says bank CEO Colleen Kvetkco to function as “a social gathering place.” Above, Mrs. Kvetko with, l-r, director Lou DePrisco, Carlos Figueroa, branch manager John Tenney and director Jim Magnus.

Shamrock Bank Open House Saturday in Ave Maria

 Shamrock Bank is holding a "meet and greet" Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to introduce itself to the Ave Maria community in advance of its planned branch opening in late August. Bank personnel will be on hand, there will be food and music, and people will be able to tour the branch -- the first time the building has been open to the public since it was finished more than four years ago.
