T ara Ladewski, who has brightened the Queen Mary Pub in Ave Maria since it opened almost three years ago, is moving up north in August. She'll be at the pub Thursday evening -- not working for a change -- if people want to stop by to wish her well.

Fall Mass Schedule Brings Back Vigil Mass in Oratory

Ave Maria students, residents and visitors will again have the option of a Vigil Mass on Saturday beginning in September, when a 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday will be added to the liturgical schedule.

The major new four-lane sectons are now fully open for traffic and the only remaining work is to resurface the two-lane section between Everglades Blvd. and Oil Well Grade.

Naples Daily News Endorses Jim Coletta

The Naples Daily News said in an editorial Sunday that it is endorsing Jim Coletta for re-election as county commissioner for District 5, which includes Ave Maria. The newspaper calls Mr. Coletta, who is a long-time supporter of Ave Maria, "a steady hand at the wheel when we need it — through tough times and our delicate economic comeback." Bear Update - Trapping Attempt Unsuccessful

Florida Fish and Wildlife officials tried unsuccessfully to trap a bear who had been wandering repeatedly through the downtown area of Ave Maria as well as several other neighborhoods. The bear has not been spotted for more than a week, and may have moved on.
