The Donahue Academy Shamrocks won their first-round playoff game Friday night, a convincing 46-20 win over Lakeside Academy, the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year.

 In 2007, the year the new Ave Maria Unviersity campus opened, coach Jeff Jagodzinski was head football coach at Boston College, taking the Eagles to the conference finals. He spoke with The Ave Herald recently about why being an assistant coach for the Gyrenes is the right thing for him at this point in his life. Cub Scouts Food Drive Starts Monday

 The Cub Scouts of Ave Maria are beginning their annual "Scouting for Food" drive Monday, dropping off bags at residents' homes early in the evening. The scouts will pick the bags of donations up Saturday morning, Nov. 3, between 10 a.m. and noon. Donations benefit the Guadalupe Center in Immokalee.
