The former president of Ave Maria University is working with a group that hopes to establish a new, private, Catholic college in Ireland by the 2014-15 academic year.
Eleven Ave Maria residents and friends sailed to the Dry Tortugas islands -- a 200-mile round trip -- May 10-14 aboard Bob Campbell's 36-foot sailboat the Jubilee -- the only ship federally registered with a home port of Ave Maria Florida.
The Mobil gas station and convenience store opening now is targeted for May 29, according to Phil Toye of station owner Automated Petroleum and Energy, who said Wednesday that the latest delay is caused by a few unexpected difficulties.
