Ave Maria University has announced it is selling local radio station WDEO-FM to the Educational Media Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that owns and operates more than 300 radio stations in the U.S. specializing in adult contemporary Christian music.

Developers Withdraw Controversial Proposal on Sidewalks, Trails

Representatives of Ave Maria Development told the Collier County Planning Commission this morning that they were withdrawing, at least for now, any proposed changes to reduce numbers of sidewalks and trails in the town. On other matters involving land use, the commission requested additional information and will continue the discussion Sept. 18.

AMU Begins New Year with Record Enrollment

With almost 400 new students, Ave Maria University's enrollment has topped 1,000 for the first time ever. Classes began Monday, and Baltimore Archbishop William Lori will deliver the convocation address Friday, Sept. 5.

Professor Michael Pakaluk (left) and author Michael Novak are teaching a twice-weekly course on the Catholic Intellectual Renaissance of the 20th Century that is open to town residents as a lecture series and will focus on Catholic contributors to Theology, Music, Literature, Visual Arts, Film, Economics and Science.
