Ave Maria University junior Regina Russo, who lost her mother to lung cancer almost a year ago, has organized a benefit concert Saturday to honor her mom and other members of her family stricken with the disease. County Commission Approves Ave Maria Land Use Changes

Collier County Commissioners unanimously approved a package of land use changes in Ave Maria after several hours of consideration Tuesday afternoon. Commissioner Georgia Hiller praised the quality of the town residents who spoke but said that "in the end, the evidence was overwhelming" for approval.

The Ave Maria Stewardship Community District board heard updates on a number of pending actions at its meeting Tuesday, but took no action because matters including a revision to golf cart rules, establishment of a design review board, and potential infrastructure bonds for Maple Ridge require further study.
