Two members of the Collier County Planning Commission expressed cautious reservations about the development direction of the town of Ave Maria at a commission hearing Thursday considering changes to the county's Land Development Code proposed by the town's developers. The proposed changes will be discussed further at the commission's next meeting June 4.

The operator of several Catholic radio stations in Alabama and Florida sees an opportunity to offer Catholic radio on a low-power FM transmitter in Ave Maria. But he says he needs to raise $40,000 from the Ave Maria Community by July to make it happen.

Gina Code has resigned as headmaster at the Rhodora Donahue Academy in Ave Maria, a statement from the school's board of directors announced Thursday. Mrs. Code, who has been at Donahue less than a year, will be replaced on an interim basis by Donahue teacher Mark Jahnke.
