Timothy McDonnell and Rebecca Ostermann – two of the three full-time members of the Ave Maria University music faculty, "will not be continuing with the university" as part of changes AMU President Jim Towey says are necessary to reverse a decline in the number of students in the music program.

Awards keep piling up for Donahue Academy senior Tommy Smith, the latest being named the school's "Graduate of Distinction." An all-around student, he also received honors at Donahue's sports award banquet.

The summer break at Ave Maria University is getting off to a somewhat shaky start, with many staff, faculty and town residents uneasy about personnel changes that either have been made, or may be coming. In the latest move, Dr. Timothy McDonnell was removed as chair of the university's department of music.UPDATE: The members of the music department faculty have sent a memo objecting to the change.
