New Cell Phone Tower Now in Service

Cell phone reception has improved in Ave Maria -- at least for customers of Verizon which has started service from a new cell phone tower. AT&T service is expected in the next few weeks.

Couple Shares Knowledge of Fatima

Jim and Jean Dudek (above in their Emerson Park home) have arranged a visit to Ave Maria later this year by the bishop emeritus of the diocese that includes Fatima, Portugal. The Dudeks, who have been to Fatima 17 times and led 11 pilgrimages, will speak Oct. 13 on the The Story and Message of Our Lady of Fatima.

The first full-service restaurant and bar in Ave Maria -- The Queen Mary Pub and Grille -- opened Friday to an enthusiastic clientele who praised its food and atmosphere. Above, pub owners Monica and Daniel Dix watch as Fr. Robert McTeigue blesses the establishment (and the beer) at its opening.

Dr. Michael Waldstein Honored with AMU's First Endowed Chair

Dr. Waldstein, a prominent Catholic scholar, now holds the Dr. Max Seckler professorship of Theology at Ave Maria University. The presentation was made at AMU's fall convocation Friday.
