A special Vigil for All Nascent Human Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 27, at 7 p.m. in the oratory with Fr. Robert Tatman presiding.
The vigil is a response to a call from Pope Benedict XVI, who has asked for prayers at the start of Advent from all pro-life people against abortion. The Holy Father himself will be celebrating a solemn vigil for all nascent human life at St. Peter's Basilica on Nov. 17.
As the vigil will be a celebration of First Vespers with Benediction for the First Sunday of Advent, the Diocese of Venice has prepared a worship aid for the service which can be downloaded in PDF form here.

The parish is developing a new Food Assistance ministry. On the second Sunday of each month there will be a large box at the entrance of the church to collect any food supplies anyone wishes to donate to the Food Bank at Guadalupe Social Services Catholic Charities Immokalee. Following items are suggested, but any assistance is appreciated: Cereal (any kind); dry powdered milk; maseco (corn flour); cooking oil; pasta (any kind); pinto beans; rice; jelly; peanut butter; grits; diapers sizes 3,4,5.
