Another key member of the founding management team at Ave Maria University will be leaving at the end of this year as new President Jim Towey continues a transition to his own group of senior managers.
Mr. Towey announced in emails to Ave Maria personnel that Paul Roney (right), one of Tom Monaghan's most trusted financial counselors and the university's treasurer and chief financial officer since its inception, has resigned effective Dec. 31. Mr. Roney said in his letter of resignation that he will continue to remain active in many other entities related to Ave Maria including retaining his role as executive director of the Ave Maria Foundation, the primary vehicle through which Mr. Monaghan founded and funded the university.
He will be succeeded as CFO by Gene Munin (left), the the university's budget director who was hired by AMU recently after serving as budget director for the City of Chicago.
Mr. Roney's departure will leave the university's chief academic officer, Jack Sites, as the most senior manager remaining from the previous administration under Mr. Monaghan as CEO and Nick Healy as president. Other new hires include Dennis Grace, AMU's VP of Enrollment and Marketing, and Louis Traina, VP of Institutional Advancement.
