Gabe Allan scored a school record six touchdowns to pace the Donahue Academy Shamrocks to an impressive 45-27 win over previously unbeaten Oasis of Cape Coral in a sixman football game in Cape Coral.

The win improves the Shamrocks to 7-1 on the season, their most wins ever in a single season, and qualifies the team for the state playoffs beginning Nov. 11-12. Donahue has a bye next week and if they win their last game of the season Nov. 4 against Westwood of Miami -- a team that is winless so far this season -- they will play their first playoff game at home at North Park in Ave Maria.

Allan scored five of his TDs rushing and one on a pass recption from quarterback Cameron Joyce, who now has thrown at least one touchdown pass in every game this season. Daniel Nagy scored the other Shamrocks TD and Joe Guernsey, Michael John Dauphinais and Gabe Allan all contributed extra point conversions. Guernsey also had four pass deflections and one interception for the defense, which was also sed by Jake Schneider and Dauphinais.

"They played really well," Coach Rich Scanlon said after the game, adding that every player on the team had been in the game by halftime.

"For a program like this, it's really important to give the guys playing time," he said.
