Former AMU Pro-Life Leader Succumbs to Injuries

on Scharfenberger passed away from injuries he suffered in an automobile accident in Georgia more than a week ago. Mr. Scharfenberger, who worked for Students for Life since graduating from Ave Maria University last May, had been in intensive care since the accident which also claimed the lives of another Students for Life staffer, Kortney Blythe Gordon, her unborn child and an occupant of another vehicle. "Jon was well known and loved by the AMU community and he will be sorely missed by all," said AMU campus ministry director Fr. Robert Garrity in announcing the young man's passing Tuesday morning. Arrangements, including a memorial at AMU, are pending.
