Michael Novak has written books on history, philosophy, theology, politics -- even a book on sports which Sports Illustrated magazine listed in 2002 as one of its top 100 sports books of all time.

But Mr. Novak has also been constantly writing poetry for the last 60 years, and has just published a collection of verse, All Nature is a Sacramental Fire.

He'll be reading from that book, and talking about it, Sunday night, Sept. 18, at 8 p.m. at The Queen Mary Pub in the Ave Maria town center.

It's not often that we can be privy to a public person's private thoughts and feelings.," writes AMU Literature Professor Joseph Pearce after reading the book. "This privilege is granted anyone who peruses this intensely personal collection of Michael Novak's verse."

Copies of the book also will be available.

Admission to the event is free, and all are welcome.
