More than 100 Dancers to Perform at Ave Maria Dance Academy Recital

The world of Disney will be the theme when more than 100 dancers take the stage May 21 for the Ave Maria Dance Academy's third annual recital.

The performance at Palmetto Ridge High School will feature costumed performers, including students and instructors, between the ages of five and 25 performing performing in a variety of dance styles including: ballet, tap, modern, lyrical, jazz, and hip-hop.

The Ave Maria Dance Academy has dancers from Ave Maria as well as many other schools in the area including Corkscrew Elementary,  Lake Trafford Elementary, and Sabal Palm Elementary.

Karen Ledesma, owner of the studio said proceeds from the recital will help support students from less advantaged situations.

"Dance is an important asset to our community and we at Ave Maria Dance Academy strive to make sure every dancer has a chance to participate regardless of their economic situation," she said.
