The Ave Maria Hometown Band and Orchestra has come a long way.
Started just a few years ago by Ave Maria resident and businesswoman Mary Stuller, the band now has grown to include beginners, accomplished musicians and a small orchestra.
Music from these various ensembles delighted residents and passers-by in the Ave Maria town center when the band played a free concert Saturday afternoon..
"These musicians are unbelievable," said Reid Carpenter, after listening to several soloists who played following the performances by the various band and orchestral configurations. One of the soloists he heard was Francesca Rossi (left), a 15-year-old violinist
from Hollywood, FL, who performed a duet on piano with University of Miami music major Stephen Seto. Miss Rossi, who plays with the Florida Youth Orchestra, was invited by Mrs. Stuller, who heard her play at a conference recently.
