Towey: Seeing Ave Maria Turned His Decision

Jim Towey, the next president and CEO of Ave Maria University, told the National Catholic Register his visit to the town and campus in January was the key factor in his decision process. "What really swung me was the visit to the campus in January to speak there. I was so surprised. It was something I had never seen before." He also said that Cardinal Wuerl of Washington " twisted my arm a little bit when I was discerning to take the job. That, to me, is a good sign that so much of America’s Church leadership is excited about Ave Maria."
