"This was a lively group," said Lisa Church of the Education Foundation. Ave Maria residents included a mix of people from all neighborhoods and Father Tatman attended as well.
"We were happy to have been asked our opinions," said Chelsea Allan, expressing a view was shared by most others attending. Mrs. Allan, who owns By Way of the Family in the town center and lives with her family in Hampton Village, commented during the meeting that she hoped the Collier County schools would make many of their programs more accessible to students who are homeschooled or who attend parochial schools.
One volunteer, Paula Tateo (seen in picture at easel) said that the group hopes to have its findings available to the public by April, 2009. "It was a good meeting," said Daniel Dix, who helped organize it and hosted it at The Bean, "and I hope the process actually achieves some results."
