Parish Office to Open Later This Year

Since the Ave Maria oratory opened a year and a-half ago, one important facility has been lacking -- a regular office for the parish administration. That will change in a few months, when the quasi-parish of the Ave Maria Oratory opens a regular office in the town center, on Pope John Paul II Blvd behind the oratory.

"It will be great to finally have a place where people can come for information, and where we can hold meetings," said parish administrator Fr. Robert Tatman. Holding up his cell phone, he said, "Until now, this has been my primary office."

The parish has been using temporary quarters in the Donahue Academy since the oratory opened in March, 2008.

The new office will provide space for meetings, storage of documents and workspace for Fr. Tatman and other parish workers. It will also enable the parish to expand its office hours to Mon-Fri, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Construction is expected to be completed within a few months.
