Julian Gonzalez, a 9th-grade student at Donahue Academy, took his place with some of the best young piano players in Southwest Florida Saturday at the FGCU/Steinway young Artists' Piano Competition at Florida Gulf Coast University. Julian, who lives in Emerson Park with his parents Don and Mary Stuller, placed third in the Junior level and was awarded a $500 scholarship.
The competition began two weeks ago with preliminary judging at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Bonita Springs. The best performers went on to the recital Saturday at FGCU.
