Ave Teams Both 1-1 in Little League Tourney

John Paul Beane and Thomas Dauphinais combined to pitch 9-0 rain-shortened shutout against the Golden Gate National team in the second day of the Little League tournament at North Park. The other Ave team lost 12-0 in another game that was shortened by a torrential rain.

Both Ave Maria teams will face each other Saturday night when play continues with the winner moving on to the third round of the double-elimination tournament. Since both teams have 1-1 records, the loser Saturday night will be eliminated.

The other game Saturday night is between the Golden Gate National and the Golden Gate American teams.
