Lords, ladies, serfs and peasants frolicked Thursday as the Donahue Academy held its first Medieval Festival. Students all dressed in costume and enjoyed games such as water-balloon jousting, tug-of-war, and a water balloon seige to rescue the captive Sr. Thomas Aquinas from the roof of the school. Students launched water balloons to the top of the gym by means of various medieval-like catapults and contraptions.
And of course, what would a medieval festival be without feasting! One and all partook of a royal banquet with chicken, fruit, bread, cheese, dessert and live entertainment.
