The long-awaited 28,000-square-foot store will have full-service meat, deli, bakery and seafood departments as well as a small floral center and will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to company spokesperson Shannon Patten. There will be no pharmacy, she said, as stores of that size rarely have one.
Publix is planning several special features for the opening, Ms. Patten said. There wll be a free gift for the first "few hundred" customers, special sale items unique to that store, samples and giveaways. Details will be in The Ave Herald as they are available.
Ms. Patten said the store is opening ahead of schedule as the construction and other work went very smoothly.
