Naples Daily News Carries Extensive Response by Developers to Controversial Series

The newspaper also carried a front-page response by the attorney who wrote the law creating the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District, Kenza van Assenderp, who says Ave Maria residents will gain the majority of votes "well in advance of the sale of all residences."
A 3rd piece in the newspaper deals with negative reaction to the series and comment from the publisher. While stating that there was nothing "inherently nefarious" about the way Ave Maria Development structured the district, Publisher Chris Doyle defended what he said was the premise of the series - that Ave Maria's government was a "landmark creation."
Two of Sunday's pieces ran on the front page, below the fold, and a third on the front of the Perspectives section. Ave Maria Development had asked for space above the fold, and space on three successive days (see earlier story
