The long trip to Jacksonville didn't faze the Donahue Academy Shamrocks who overwhelmed Seacoast Christian 52-13 for their second straight win of the young eight-man football season. The Shamrocks are 2-0 now on the season and have outscored their opponents 88-13 in the two games.
"Offensively, we are becoming more balanced with 176 yards rushing and 95 yards passing," said Coach Rich Scanlon. Quarterback Elias Allan threw two touchdown strikes to Mark Cheffers and the quarterback also ran for one touchdown. Randy Beidelschies had two rushing touchdowns and JP Klucik and Uriel Martinez had one apiece. Shean doman returned an interception for a score.
"The effort was terrific," Coach Scanlon said. "Seacoast was an athletic football team. I like the way we came out and took control of the game from the very first series. I also like how we responded with a quick score after they scored."
The Shamrocks have a bye next week and play their home opener Sept. 9 against First Coast Christian from Jacksonville at 7 p.m. at North Park in Ave Maria.
