About 75 residents of the Emerson Park in Ave Maria turned out Sunday for the neighborhood's first block party.

Locally-based DJ Tom DiFlorio provided the music while families mingled, ate, danced and played.

"Everyone agreed that it is a great tradition to continue," said resident Mary Stuller, adding that next time the event likely will be in the evening. (photos by Mary Stuller)
