Ave Maria University held one of its largest events ever Tuesday, a celebration on the Feast of the Annunciation that marks the day for which the universtiy is named, when the angel Gabriel annunced to the Virgin Mary that she was chosen to bear the Christ child.
The skies that had threatened rain earlier cleared in time for the feast to which the entire Ave Maria community, including the residents, was invited. AMU said that 1,350 steak dinners were served, making it one of the largest events ever held on the campus, and those attending also enjoyed music from the band Scythian.
