Donahue Academy Names New Headmaster

Code Gina128The Rhodora J. Donahue Academy has announced the selection of a new headmaster to replace Dan Guernsey, who will be moving down the road to Ave Maria University at the end of the academic year to head up the university's fledgling education department.

The new Donahue headmaster, chosen after a national search, will be Mrs. Regina ("Gina") Code, who currently is principal of the St. Veronica Catholic school in Cincinnati, OH.

A news release from the Donahue Academy said Mrs. Code will "continue to foster the school's classical education model, its record of academic excellence, and further nurture its unique Catholic culture."

Mrs. Code has been principal at St. Vernoica for five years, overseeing a growth of 28 percent in its student body to a total of 590 students. Before joining St. Vernonica's, she was a teacher for 15 years in both public and Catholic elementary schools. She has a Masters of Arts in Education and a Masters of Arts in Instructional Leadership from Northern Kentucky University.

Dr. Guernsey was Donahue's founding headmaster, and under his leadership the K-12 school has grown to 255 students.
