"We are so excited about this," said Diana Ibarria, a senior vice president of developer CC Devco, as she pointed out various features of the neighborhood on a site map. Left, Ms. Ibarria talks about development plans by a map of the site with Scott Schneider (center), whose family will be moving into one of the first homes that will be ready next year.

CC Devco has begun construction of a model park adjacent to the sales center, located in the Ave Maria town center across from Publix. Model homes are expected to open early in the fall, and the neighborhood's first residents are expected to move into their homes in early 2014.

The first phase of the development is about 150 houses, but CC Devco, in partnership with the Barron Collier Cos., plans to build about 1,800 homes in all.

The sales center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information is at www.mapleridgefl.com.
