Fifteen graduates of the Rhodora J. Donahue Academy -- the largest graduating class in the school's six-year history -- received diplomas Friday morning at commencement exercises in the Ave Maria Oratory.
"We are very proud of you, Class of 2013 -- now go forth and conquer," academy Headmaster Dan Guernsey told the graduates.
Class valedictorian Peter Scheck (below left) told the audience of students, staff and relatives that the the education he and his classmates received prepared them well for the challenges ahead. "Now it's up to us to show the world what's up," he said.
The graduating class included three students who attended the school for its entire six-year history. Below right, those three: Teresita Valencia, John Guerra and Aracelly Artiles.
The Donahue Academy has been growing strongly since it opened in 2007 and next year expects a graduating class of about 25, Dr. Guernsey said.
