Traditional May Crowning Marks Start of May

Students from the Donahue Academy of Ave Maria, many carrying flowers, led the traditional May 1 Crowning of Mary Wednesday.

Students from all grades were also joined by children from the Casa de Bambini pre-school and other residents as they processed from the school (below left), around the Ave Maria University mall, and into the oratory, where they laid flowers by a statue of Mary (below right) and placed a wreath of flowers on her head (right).
