science1-350The young inquiring minds of homeschooled children in Ave Maria came up with science experiments ranging from behavior of lizards to workings of robotic hands at a science fair held Sunday in the physics lab at Ave Maria University.

"The judges were all highly impressed with the quality of the work," said AMU physics professor Patrick Kelly, or organized the judging for the fair. "Deciding on the winners was a real challenge."

Prized were awarded to six children who placed first or second in their age categories. Pictured right the 1st and 2nd-place winners, with Dr. Kelly in the background, are (left to right): Jenna Novekosky, Jonathan Novekosky, Dominic Scanlon, Michael Martinez, Paul Dinan and Luke Klein.
