Hundreds of Ave Maria residents and students turned out Monday for activities on the Feast of The Annunciation, the feast day for the town and university that celebrates the greeting by the Angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary -- Ave Maria, Latin for Hail Mary -- when he announced to her that she had been chosen as the mother of Jesus.
