End-of-term recitals by the Ave Maria University Music Department offer an opportunity to hear accomplished student musicians performing a variety of vocal and instrumental pieces.

This year, there are two performances, Saturday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m.

Saturday's event is the department's fall recital, featuring performances by outstanding student pianists and singers. Students will perform works of Sibelius, Vaughan Williams, Fauré, Mozart, and others.

Sunday, all are invited to a Liederabend! What is a Liederabend? It is a recital of beautiful art songs by Schubert, Brahms, Purcell, Vaughan Williams, and other great composers. The recital will be sung by members of the Vocal Literature class taught by Dr. Susan Treacy, and the students will be available after the recital for questions about and discussion of the songs they have sung.

Both events are in the private dining room of the AMU student union building. Admission is free, and all are welcome.
