Donahue Advances to Next Round of 7-Man Football Playoffs

The Donahue academy Shamrocks beat Lakeside Christian 46-20 Friday night at North Park in Ave Maria to move on to the next round of the 7-man football playoffs.

Matt Houde had 148 yards receiving on 12 receptions and two touchdowns to lead the offense. John Hurley completed 20 passes out of 42 attempts for 245 yards, 3 TD's and one interception. Hurley also added 74 yards rushing including one touchdown. Joe Towey, Cale Schneider and Nathan Gay each added a TD.

Joe Chmielowski led the defense with 16.5 tackles and 5 QB sacks. Luke Scheck added nine tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery. Nathan Gay had three quarterback sacks and a fumble recovery along with 6.5 tackles. Daniel Nagy had 5.5 tackles and a funble recovery.

With the win, Donahue turned the tables on Lakeside Christian, which had knocked the Shamrocks out of the playoffs last year.

The Shamrocks' next game is Friday evening, Nov. 9, against Clearwater Academy in Safety Harbor.
